Urging the US Department of merce to explore leading a Standard Business Reporting (SBR)initiative in the US was among one of the more interesting findings in a report released by New York University’s Lab this week.

The report details remendations from a roundtable held earlier this year that explored the potential of open data at the US Department of merce.The report is aimed at helping the DoC and other US federal agencies develop data strategies to meet the requirements of the U.S.Open Data Policy.The report identifies several key areas for improvement,including data aess,quality,sharing,interoperability across departments,and storage.The report also calls on the Department to utilize the Legal Entity Identifier wherever possible.Read the Report.
