As of the first of January 2007, businesses and intermediaries can report their financial data to the government using the Dutch XBRL taxonomy. The common aim is to improve citizen’s service, reduce regulatory burdens for businesses and government agencies and efficient operations within the central government. The Dutch Taxonomy Project is expected to save reporting companies 25% of their compliance costs, and has already succeeded in reducing the number of reporting elements that companies have to keep of from 200,000 to 4,500. |
