XBRL international conference is an international conference serving the XBRL International, promoted mainly by XBRL International Steering Committee, undertaken by a certain XBRL regional organization, and supported by some large companies or XBRL technology providers. Its main purpose is to organize regular meetings for its members, and to popularize & discuses the latest XBRL technologies and applications, etc, so as to expand the influence of XBRL to the world, to spread and apply XBRL within wider areas. XBRL International holds 2-3 international conferences annually. From the first conference in February 2001 to the conference in December 2009, XBRL International has held 19 international conferences successively in Britain, America, Germany, Canada, Japan, Holland, New Zealand, and etc.

With the growth of XBRL International, and to meet the new demands, the methods and contents of XBRL international conference are taking on some features gradually, mainly in:

a)         At present, XBRL international conference has become an internationally significant conference with far influence.

b)         The frequency and time of the conference become regular gradually. XBRL international conference is held every half year since 2003. Generally speaking, the conference in the first half year is in April to June, the second half is around November to December.

c)         The number of participants or countries represented is increasing, from only 10 country representatives participating in the first XBRL international conference in February 2001 to 400 representatives from more than 30 countries in the 15^th conference in June 2007, which has realized a leap in the scale of the participants.

d)         The topics discussed in the conference is closely focused on the XBRL- related hot spots in that year, which makes the XBRL International conference itself is writing an evolution history on XBRL application development.

e)         During the conference, more and more international XBRL technology providers will introduce their mature experience and provide real displays on XBRL products, and some international celebrities in the business world will also make a speech, all of which will enhance the technology strength and the promotional effectiveness of XBRL international conference.

f)          The conference is conducted by the developed capitalist countries as America, Germany, Japan, and some developing countries as China is participating in, which makes the XBRL conference become much more international and more complete. The fund information taxonomy by Shanghai Securities Exchange has not only received the approval of the XBRL international, but also expanded XRBL-related application areas when first published, and is also on top of the world. It is absolutely possible for some developing countries to promote or conduct the XBRL International Conference.
