NEW YORK--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--XBRL International, Inc. (XII), the global standards body that develops and maintains the XBRL business reporting standard, announced today that Liv Watson has joined XII as Chief Product Officer (CPO) and David Nitchman has been appointed Director of Communications and Marketing. These positions will help XII capitalize on market opportunities and meet the needs of members and the market place; they report directly to CEO Anthony Fragnito, CPA.

The Chief Product Officer (CPO) will be responsible for overseeing the long-term development, maintenance and support for the XBRL Specifications, practice guidance and related standards. The CPO will also serve as strategic support to the XBRL Technical Boards (XSB and BPB) and is responsible for acquiring and managing the staff, volunteers and contractors of XII that work on technical activities. In addition, the CPO will function as the liaison with other standards bodies, engage directly with current and prospective project leaders, and capitalize on opportunities to broaden global XBRL adoption.

The Director of Communications and Marketing will be responsible for managing the XII Web site, serving as staff lead for XII’s global iBR magazine, and serving as staff liaison for the XII Membership Development Committee. In addition, this position will lead the branding strategy for XBRL as well as XII programs and services.
