XBRL International (XII) is seeking candidates for the Assurance mittee Chair as part of its schled rotation of this leadership position.
Given the nature of XBRL-tagged data and emerging practice related to the auracy of this data, the spe of the mittee’s work is not limited to the  narrowest definition of assurance used by public aountants. Instead, the mittee focuses on a broader ntext, taking into aount the various forms of assurance and related services and processes that lend credibility to the auracy of XBRL-tagged data.  

XII Assurance mittee Goals and Objectives:

•Provide a forum for the identification, analysis and mmunication of market needs and issues related to the auracy of XBRL-tagged data

•Proactively identify, reach out to and engage influencers, stakeholders, standards setters and regulators as appropriate  

 •Serve as the official liaison between market  participants and XBRL International on assurance and related matters (ordinate visibility in  both the market and within XII leadership and membership)

•Identify relevant resources, materials, and research on the ic

•Develop awareness materials (articles and publications) on the auracy and integrity of information tagged in XBRL format, and the provision of assurance and related services on this information

•The XII Assurance mittee will not develop standards or related guidance for XBRL assurance

Procre 

Assurance mittee Chair candidates may be nominated by any member of XII and may include selfnominations. The Nominations mittee will nduct  interviews after the close of the nominations period. Final candidate remmendation will be presented to the XII Board for approval. 

Term

The term of this position is annual with an option for extension by mutual agreement. 
The Chair will be expected to:

•Oversee and participate in the production of relevant materials and overall work of the mittee

•Work with XII staff to schle monthly mittee calls and working group calls as needed

•Prepare agendas and related materials for mittee calls, ordinate mittee member participation in meetings and projects, and lead mittee meetings and calls

•Periodically report activities to the XII Board and other interested parties

•Guide the implementation of the mittee goals and objectives

•Be well qualified in at least one (and preferably more) of the following primary mpetencies:

 o Knowledge of XBRL projects around the world, including assurance and related services currently being performed on the auracy of XBRL-tagged data

o Understanding of XBRL

o Expertise in assurance and related services

o Expertise in data quality

Any XII Eligible Participant may be nominated as a Chair of the Assurance mittee. Individuals may self nominate for this position and no sender is required. If you are nominating someone else please ensure that they are able to nfirm nomination by the deadline.
