XBRL International, Inc. (XII) has announced an expanded membership structure that allows corporations, associations, NGOs, regulatory bodies, government agencies, not-for-profits and others the option to directly join the XBRL International consortium, the global standards organization that develops the XBRL standard and advocates its adoption.
“Our members share a common vision in which all business information is transparent, accessible, and accurate through the use of the XBRL standard,” said Anthony Fragnito, CPA, CEO of XBRL International, Inc. “Direct membership in XII allows organizations that have the same global vision to get involved, including in the standards development process. This option permits all employees of a direct member to participate in XII working groups, activities and programs at the international level, regardless of where they are based. With the growing use of XBRL around the world, our goal is to increase the volunteer resources for our technical committees and working groups as well as organizational programs.”
Information about the direct membership option can be accessed from the How to Join area of the XII website. The Direct Membership section on this webpage includes links to the various online application forms. There are also links to a brochure and a benefits document.
