XBRL US has appointed Campbell Pryde as its new president and CEO.

The business reporting standards consortium promotes the adoption of Extensible Business Reporting Standards in financial statements and is involved in developing other Extensible Markup Language standards for the public and private sectors in the U.S.

Pryde has been chief standards officer at XBRL US for the past three years and is head of development at the organization. Mark Bolgiano, who served as the first president and CEO of XBRL US, will be stepping down to lead technology strategy at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, starting on Dec. 1.

Pryde has previously worled at KPMG and Morgan Stanley. In addition to leading the development of the US GAAP taxonomy currently in use by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Pryde led XBRL US Labs efforts that resulted in the recent release of the first Intrnational Standars Organization-aligned XBRL taxonomy for corporate actions.

“Mark, along with the entire team, has been instrumental in establishing XBRL as a widely known and used technology solution in the financial reporting and business information area,” said AICPA president and CEO Barry Melancon, who is chairman of XBRL US. “Now under Campbell's leadership, XBRL US will continue to drive widespread XBRL adoption, improve data quality and distribute knowledge through education and training programs.”
