Chairman's Welcome to XBRL21

Ladies and Gentlemen,

With the theme as "One Language, Common Vision — Role of XBRL Technology in the Post-Crisis Era”, the XII's 21st International Conference, hosted by XBRL China, will be held in October 2010 in Beijing. We are very proud as the host to meet all of you at this golden and most beautiful season. On behalf of XBRL China, I would like to deliver my warmest welcome to guests both from China and abroad, who may take this chance to understand the status of XBRL promotion and application in China. We also try to leverage the conference as a communication platform with all of you to further improve the cooperation with XBRL International and XBRL organization in each country/region, to achieve the goal of continuously facilitating XBRL's high-quality application worldwide. 

The global financial crisis has led leaders of national oversight bodies to realize the importance of enhancing oversight in their combined efforts to cope with the biggest financial challenge in a century. As a new technology for data exchange, XBRL helps to improve information transparency, data quality, and the efficiency of information exchange. We believe that on XII’s 21st international conference, a discussion on XBRL’s new application in oversight among XBRL experts and professionals from various industries around world will provide realistic implications to global efforts in handling the financial downturn.

In this spirit, keynote speeches, panel discussions and interactive tracks at the conference will focus on Applications of XBRL in oversight, Uses of XBRL to improve information transparency, data quality and the efficiency of information exchange, Best Practices for adapting XBRL reporting, etc. A special China Track will also be held to showcase rapid development of XBRL's technical R&D and application progress in China.

Currently, XBRL has already become one of the key measures of facilitating accounting information's announcement in China. As the official local XBRL organization, we are committed to continuously establish the technical standard, drive applications among various industries and enhance international exchange. We look forward to your participation to XII's 21st International Conference and expect to learn your viewpoints, insights as well as experiences.
