What is happening to the XBRL US Inc membership base?
10 August 2010
On the International Steering Committee meeting the issue of financial contributions was raised. It was noted that XBRL US Inc had signaled that their fiancial contribution would be dropping, with XII estimating a drop to $120,000 (representing a membership-fee paying base of $320,000). I think it was around $150,000 previously (representing a $450,000 memberhsip-fee paying base). It was noted that unfortunately the actual figure would be closer to $70,000 (representing a membership-fee paying base of only $210,000).
It should be remembered that this excludes any contributions of the Big-4 and other Founders Council "members". None the less, what does this say about XBRL US Inc's membership base?
Are companies taking longer to renew?
Are companies not renewing?
How much does XBRL US Inc still retain from the Founders Council members initial $1,000,000/per fee? Strangely, from an XBRL International point of view, the best thing that could happen for XII revenue would be for all the Founders Council members to decide not to renew as anything other than "floor" (regular) members.
Of course we will need to wait until sometime around February 2012 to know, as judging by history, XBRL US Inc will delay the filing of their IRS Form 990 for as long as possible.
So, does anyone have any interesting insights into what might be happening at XBRL US Inc? |
