XBRL International, Inc is Pleased to Announce Its Newest Provisional Jurisdiction: XBRL Romania

Romania ntinues to fulfill its mmitment to sustainable enomic development and undertakes the necessary steps to achieve major European macro-enomic objectives in the ntext of the modern, global enomy.

Sustainable enomic development involves a diversity of ntributions from all active players within the Romanian society and enomy – social partners, business partners, professional associations, academic mmunity and civil society.

Along this path, in October 2009, “XBRL Romania” was anized as a not-for-profit professional association with the aim to develop, implement and promote XBRL in the Romanian enomy. On the 17th of November 2009, the International Steering mittee of XBRL International, Inc. approved the Provisional Jurisdiction of “XBRL Romania”.  The first phase of development planned in Romania is a technical one, in which XBRL Romania will nstruct the web platform as well as the interface of this platform within the XBRL International web . The association XBRL Romania is happy to announce that it has sueeded to attract the involvement of experts in the information technology sector that have already started developing the platform.

In parallel with this, the next challenge is to create a herent, effective and reliable rporate ernance structure within the association, so that transparency and mmunication with the local membership is efficient and open. All relevant points of view, professional interests, mmitments and needs of all interested parties are nsidered. The rporate ernance structure will be designed so that it exclusively and effectively serves the overriding, ultimate goal of smoothly nnecting and integrating the Romanian enomic life into the larger, global enomy and reporting enviroments.
