Can XBRL GL actually prove itself to be a standardized, web services payload and - in doing so - demonstrate that XBRL has value to companies ... even small companies ... and not just regulators?
The J-SAAS project, promoted by the Japanese METI, is a suite of accounting and reporting back-office services - such as accounting, payroll, tax returns, management reporting, sales and purchases management - available online and primarily intended for small and medium enterprises.
The various J-SAAS stand-alone services are available since March 2009; the next step currently under development is to provide a connection between those services by enabling automated data exchange and sharing between them.
XBRL's Global Ledger provides a standardized and application-, jurisdiction- and industry-independent format to represent business and accounting information as found in ERP applications and accounting software, and is the format chosen to enable interoperability between the various J-SAAS services. Join us in this session where we will discuss the project and how XBRL GL is being used to facilitate data interoperability and help achieve the overall objectives of the project.
The next outreach call will be held January 27, 2010 at 21:00 UTC. |
