- Data From Vodafone Data Warehouse to be Flowed Automatically Into a Variety of Annual and Quarterly Statutory Reporting Documents for UK and US Regulators, Using Clarity FSR .
Clarity Systems, a leader in corporate performance management (CPM) and external reporting solutions, today announced that Vodafone, the world's leading international mobile communications group and the third largest listing in The Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) 100 index, had purchased the Clarity FSR reporting solution to automate the 'last mile' of its financial reporting process.
"Our data warehouse receives and consolidates tremendous amounts of financial information from Vodafone Group Plc and our subsidiary undertakings and joint ventures across the world, but to transfer all that information into our annual and quarterly reports, earnings' press releases and other financial statements involved manual re-keying, proofreading and formatting," says James Oehmke, Finance Executive, Head of External Reporting, Vodafone Group Plc.
Continuing, Mr. Oehmke said, "By automatically enabling data flows from our Hyperion data warehouse into the Clarity FSR reporting solution and producing our documents with that solution, we anticipate completing the 'last mile' of our financial reporting process in far less time than is currently required. In addition to eliminating multiple data entry exercises, the Clarity solution automatically generates future instances when new or changed information arises."
Designed to help companies deal with increasingly complex statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, Clarity FSR is the only enterprise software that automates the external reporting process - such as annual and interim reports and announcements - by linking the report to the source data, enabling auto-generation of the latest version of the report in multiple formats including XBRL, PDF, Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign.
"XBRL is becoming more important as regulators require this format for filing, so the fact that XBRL tagging functionality is integrated within Clarity FSR is icing on the cake," added Oehmke.
"We are very pleased that another blue-chip firm is using Clarity FSR to automate their financial reporting process," said Mark Nashman, President and CTO, Clarity Systems. "For Vodafone, time spent on manual cross-checks, reconciliations, rounding and other mainly administrative tasks will be significantly reduced with Clarity FSR, resulting in both increased efficiency and lower risk of error. From a sales execution perspective, this is another example of how Clarity's strategic relationship with Bowne & Co. helped to expedite the sales process." |
