Today during the 19th XBRL International Conference in Paris, France, XBRL International, Inc. (XII) announced the appointment of three additional members to its international Board of Directors:
l Mr. Olivier Boutellis-Taft, Chief Executive, Federation of European Accountants
l Ms. Jamie Shay, Head of Standards – Senior Manager, Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT)
l Mr. Yoshiaki Wada, Director and Head of Financial Data Center Section, Financial Systems and Bank Examination Department, Bank of Japan
With the addition of Mr. Boutelis-Taft, Ms. Shay and Mr. Wada, the 11-member XII Board will advise and assist in executing strategic opportunities as a result of XBRL’s growing international adoption, guide the acquisition and allocation of XII resources, identify critical regulatory and accounting convergence trends for which the XBRL standard could be used as a solution, and develop long-term growth and sustainability strategies for the XBRL International consortium.
“Our fully-seated Board provides the public interest oversight necessary in the development of global standards and frameworks as well as strategic vision for the XII organization,” said Anthony Fragnito, CPA, CEO of XBRL International, Inc. “The addition of our newest Board members is the latest evolutionary step for the organization’s governance structure as it amplifies adoption efforts of XBRL by governments, regulators, analysts, investors and companies around the world.”
The Board is comprised of members from North America, South America, Europe and Asia and reflects the global focus of the XBRL standard. Leveraging XII’s ongoing series of regional and international forums in Asia/Pacific, Australia, Europe, Middle East/Africa and the Americas, the Board oversees management and integrity of the XBRL standard for the public benefit and is helping to rebuild overall public trust in business reporting.
