As Securities and Exchange mission rules bring XBRL usage by public mpanies closer to reality, ntrollers and chief financial officers must make an early decision on whether to ntract with vendors to do the XBRL tagging or handle the function in-house. While many financial printers already offer this service, Ventana Research found that XBRL software tagging tools are easy to master, making in-house tagging a practical and efficient option. Within two years, almost all major financial reporting software is expected to facilitate XBRL tagging.
