● The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission recently announced three significant initiatives in business reporting that if enacted as written, will mandate the use of XBRL for public companies, for mutual funds, and for credit rating agencies
● Japan and China have recently mandated the use of XBRL for public company reporting
● Last month the European Parliament agreed by a large majority that the European Commission should move forward to support the introduction and adoption of XBRL for EU regulatory filings and business reporting

Conference Overview
October 14 and 17th – Members will meet in DC for meetings of XBRL International Working Groups, the XBRL International Steering Committee and Best Practices Board, Standards Board plus the XBRL US Annual Meeting.
October 15-16 – are the plenary days and will feature:
● SEC Chairman Christopher Cox to present on SEC rule proposals to mandate XBRL, plus luminaries from around the world speaking on the global advancements and preparations
● Governance, Risk and Compliance symposium to provide insights into how interactive data will impact proxies, ESG and corporate social responsibility
● Investor Communication symposium to cover corporate web sites, prospectuses, annual reports and press release distributions
● Public Sector/Government symposium to educate on interactive data in government grants, municipals, budgeting and other agency activities
