| XBRL International has recently granted acknowledged status to the "Information Disclosure Taxonomy of China's Listed Companies" developed by the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) on its own, i.e. the Chinese XBRL Taxonomy. In a public statement on its official website, XBRL International confirmed that the SSE-developed taxonomy is the first one acknowledged by it in China. According to an SSE official, the taxonomy is an innovation with the core intellectual property right owned by the SSE. It is the embodiment that the SSE has diligently studied the essentials of the 5th plenary session of the 16th Central Committee of the CPC and adhered to the scientific view of development. He added that the SSE has been paying much attention to improving creativity, trying to grasp core and critical technologies to form a basic system framework of independent innovations. By formulating the important technical standards of securities information disclosure and China's first taxonomy recognized by XBRL International, it will help the SSE to build an innovative technology foundation, enhance the protection of intellectual property, perfect the intellectual property protection system and optimize the environment for innovation. The SSE officials, upon planning, rational argumentation and sufficient deployment, decided to develop through independent innovation the taxonomy that applies to information disclosure of China's listed companies. Relevant departments, by learning and absorbing XBRL's latest technologies, have grasped the advanced international core technologies. In combination with the characteristics of China's securities market, they have accomplished the taxonomy with Chinese characteristics fit for China's listed companies. The SSE's practice in promoting the information disclosure of listed companies based on the taxonomy has been successfully applied to the release of full texts of annual reports, abstracts of annual reports, full texts of semi-annual reports, abstracts of semi-annual reports and quarterly reports of listed companies, taking a leading role in the world. |
